June 2024 Etsy income
What happened this month?Did I do better than last month? Or did the decline that started in May continue?
Come and check the Etsy numbers for June 2024 and see if they beat the previous month's numbers.
Before you continue reading, I can already tell you that the numbers in June were horrible.
Listings
The original plan was to publish two new items every week, but I failed .
I only uploaded six items instead of 8. I created more items but was not satisfied with the result, so I decided to go for only one item in the last weeks of June.
I have many ideas for the upcoming weeks, but I am not artistic and also no Midjourney-whizzkid. I try to offer the best possible quality; for me, it is always quality above quantity. I only publish something when I am 100% happy with the result.
Visitors
As you can see, the number of visitors to my Etsy shop took a nose dive back to January numbers.
I hoped to have around the same number of visitors as May, but I didn't expect this decline.
Now I know why they say that the summer months are the worst period for Etsy shops. The weather is getting better, longer days, people do much more outdoor activities, etc.
Orders and Conversation Rate
I had 31 people buying something in June, with only 44 purchases. Again a big decline.
In December, I only had 740 visitors, while in June, I had 1016 visitors. This means that the overall conversion rate also dropped significantly. Below 4% for June.
I am still figuring out what caused these dramatic numbers. I can't blame it on the summer months only. There has to be another reason; maybe the items I am selling are too seasonal.
June started very promising, with almost two items sold almost every day. I really was thinking that June would be a good month, beating May. And it all stopped in mid-June when I had almost a whole week without a sale. First, I thought my shop was being banned again, but all was okay. Now you understand why I was so disappointed about this month. It started very positively but ended in a horrible way.
Revenue
Again, the start of June was very promising. I expected a record-breaking month. But sadly enough, this was only wishful thinking.
The revenue graph looks boring, with only one high peak at the beginning of the month. The rest is completely flat, with many days of zero revenue.
And I can assure you that this is very frustrating. Sometimes, I doubted myself why I was making all the effort to achieve these lousy numbers. But I regained my optimism quickly and realized this was because of the summer months. I did some research and saw that similar shops like mine also had low revenue. So, I was not the only one.
But I hope this will be the year low and from now on going up. Stay positive!
Costs
Listing fees: 11.94€
Transaction fees: 6.46€
Processing fees: 12.48€
VAT on seller fees: 6.73€
Offsite ads: 0€
Which totals up to 38.61€ in fees.
This, combined with my Midjourney (30€) and eRank (5€) subscription, makes the total cost 73.61€.
One positive point about such a horrible month is that the total costs are low.
Passive income for May 2024
I always said I would be happy if my profit were above 50$, so now you understand why I was so frustrated about June. A little bit more profit than December, but 45% more visitors.
This only can get better, and I hope it will.
... Extra ...
Here, there is one number that did keep me motivated: the reviews score.
8 people rewarded me with a 5-star rating. A 100% score for me.
So, this means that the quality of the items I am offering is excellent and that people are satisfied with what they get.
Quality above quantity.
Things can only get better from here on, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that July will be a much better month than June.
